Startup Senate 2026

Startup Senate 2026 is an immersive entrepreneurship experience organised by the Entrepreneurship Cell at IIT Hyderabad as part of E-Merge ’26. Designed for school students, Startup Senate places participants in the role of startup co-founders. Participants work in committees, pitch startup ideas, manage limited budgets, build brands, respond to unexpected crises, rethink strategies, and make critical business decisions under pressure. Throughout the experience, participants explore real entrepreneurial trade-offs, including bootstrapping versus venture capital, launching a minimum viable product versus a full-scale product, and deciding when to pivot. Surprise challenges may test their ability to handle ethical dilemmas, team conflicts, investment offers, and changing market conditions. The experience culminates in the development and presentation of a final startup blueprint, helping participants strengthen teamwork, strategic thinking, decision-making, leadership, and communication.
